SDM-Valorum guides Smart Deal company Select in its Dutch expansion. Select surpasses €100 million in group revenue.

At the end of February, just before the start of a long series of Covid-19 measures, Select officially acquired a majority stake in the Dutch company EN HR solutions. This strengthens Select’s presence in the Netherlands, currently the largest market for flexible employment in Europe, and marks the first time since its founding that group revenue exceeds €100 million.

The partnership not only creates greater geographical balance within the group, which is mainly active in the Benelux and also operates in the Middle East and North Africa, but above all adds an important fourth pillar to its services. In addition to Recruitment & Selection, Project Sourcing, and Consultancy & Outplacement, Select can now also offer its clients Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and Total Talent Acquisition (TTA), the core competencies of EN HR solutions.

RPO is a service in which EN HR solutions, as a recruitment specialist, fully or partially takes over an organization’s recruitment process, operating onsite and entirely in the name of its client. When an RPO setup includes both permanent staff and flexible workers or freelancers, it is referred to as Total Talent Acquisition. Another important pillar of EN HR solutions is online services: development of careers websites, vacancy marketing, and employer branding projects. These elements can be offered separately but are standard in the RPO service package.

RPO has been well established for years in the US and is growing strongly in the Netherlands, both of which are typical frontrunners in the HR market. In Belgium, RPO is still in its infancy, but the combination of EN HR solutions’ expertise with Select’s Belgian network could quickly change this. Conversely, Select can accelerate the rollout of its traditional services in the Netherlands through EN HR solutions’ network.

Finally, this acquisition, structured under the Smart Deal philosophy, gives the current management of EN—Managing Director Tjesca Honnef-Kuijtenbrouwer and Commercial Director Kevin Sebel—the opportunity to join the shareholder base alongside majority shareholder Select and the two sellers. Select was advised by SDM-Valorum in this transaction.
Tjesca Honnef-Kuijtenbrouwer and Kevin Sebel will continue to lead day-to-day operations.
Bart Gonnissen, CEO of Select, will oversee the integration globally and work towards optimal synergy between both organizations, with EN HR solutions remaining as a brand alongside Select.
