Bacovo’s story begins when Theo Voorspoels, as a small village blacksmith, started silo constructions custom-made for the bakery industry from his garage in 1965. The company becomes a reference in the silo construction sector and quickly expands to larger warehouses. In 1990, the company moves to the SME zone in Lint where a brand new site is established with a broader focus on metalworking.
In 1997, the three sons take over the family business and further invest in high-tech machines and digitalization of the various processes. In addition to classic metalworking, the company further concentrates on copper processing.
In the absence of a family succession, in 2022 the Voorspoels family, together with SDM Corporate Finance Group, will look for a worthy successor. In 2023, the company will continue to be led into the future by Geert Van Bockstal. Geert has a 36-year career with Philips as a supply chain manager and in the future, together with Paul and Bob, will take the company to the next stage of professionalization.
