BME Group’s acquisition of Gedimat Antwerp, a distributor of general building materials, has been completed. With this additional acquisition, BME Group is strengthening its pickup network on the south side of Antwerp, where it is already active through BMB Bouwmaterialen.

Gedimat has an extensive range of building materials and has already recorded very good sales figures in the past at its excellently located site in Aartselaar. The company currently employs seventeen people. Even after the acquisition by BME Group, Vincent van Genechten, current owner of Gedimat, will remain active within the group.

Gedimat Antwerp is now part of one of Europe’s leading distributors of building materials. In Belgium, the group operates under the brand names BMB Bouwmaterialen (general materials) and STG (sanitary, heating and plumbing). The latter company was formerly known as Sax, Lambrechts and Schrauwen.

Financial details of the transaction are not being disclosed.

SDM-Valorum acted as advisor to Vincent van Genechten in the sale to BME Group.
